The documentary RAJO RED: THE BUSINESS OF ELEGANCE, produced by Q Channel 11’s (GMA Network’s sister station) Entertainment TV Group in partnership with the House of Laurel, is nominated for Best Lifestyle Program in the 2010 NAMIC Vision Awards.
The NAMIC Vision Awards of the National Association for Multi-ethnicity in Communications (NAMIC) honors networks and producers/distributors who best represents diversity and cross-culture in their television programming.
RAJO RED: THE BUSINESS OF ELEGANCE is a special documentary in celebration of Filipino designer Rajo Laurel’s 15 years in the fashion industry. It features Rajo’s success story, the evolution of his creations, one of his fashion shows which was mounted for a cause, plus his aspirations for the future.
Other nominees in the Lifestyle category are Adrelina (Si TV), Black Canvas – Gail & Okamoto (EBRU TV), and World in America ��“ Guyana (EBRU TV).
Aired internationally thru GMA Life TV, RAJO RED: THE BUSINESS OF ELEGANCE also won a Silver Screen Award in the 2009 US International Film and Video Festival (USIFVF).
Two programs currently aired in the Philippines via Q Channel 11 also received nominations ��“ actress Margaret Cho of the dramedy Drop Dead Diva (Lifetime Television) for Best Performance in a Comedy and the medical drama series Hawthorne (TNT) for Best Drama.
Now on its 16th year, the 2010 NAMIC Vision Awards will be presented on April 22 at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California.
