The give-all attitude that Mark Anthony has towards life is something his father Rudy Fernandez imparted. “My dad said, Walang Plan B, walang Plan C. Buhos mo lahat,” he says. This outlook probably saved Mark in his darker days. By now, everyone knows about his stint in rehab and the slow, grueling climb to recovery. Just like anyone, Mark’s life hit countless road blocks. But one can take a cue from Mark’s resilience and learn a thing or two bout bouncing back.
Today, Mark is back to being the talented actor that everyone once knew, his star shining brightly in roles both big and small. His professionalism and love for the craft are things his father also instilled in him. “He told me to love my job so my job will love me, too,” he says, citing this as his favorite life lesson from his father.
Rudy Fernandez may have succumbed to his two-year battle against periampullary cancer, but the life lessons he shared with Mark will live on.
