It’s been more than a year since the investigative program “XXX” EXPOSED the alleged detainment of a 20 year-old girl in a farm owned by PBA player Dennis Espino.
This Monday (Nov 28), Julius Babao will give an update on the case involving Dennis who reportedly wouldn’t let her former farm secretary go home to her family unless she pays her debt amounting to P5,000 and returns the files of the company.
Meanwhile, Pinky Webb investigates a tip provided to “XXX” about a “killer” soy sauce being sold in the market. Pinky finds out what chemical is contained in the condiment and how it affects those consuming it.
Anthony Taberna, who recently won best male newscaster for “Iba-balita” at the PMPC star awards, probes an alleged anomalous practice of PHILWEB Corp, which is the provider of E-Games at PAGCOR. So when “XXX” exposes the anomaly to PAGCOR, they were surprised by the revelation on how its gaming provider has been making money but deprives PAGCOR of its rightful earnings.
“XXX,” nominated for Outstanding Crime/Investigative Program at the Golden Screen TV awards this Tuesday, has been breaking some of the country’s important stories to date. It caught on cam former Batangas Gov. Antonio Leviste going out of prison this year after months of surveillance. And its expose on the maltreatment of a grandmother detained in a dog cage spurred public outrage on how the family treated its mother.
Don’t miss “XXX” this Monday (Nov 28) after “Bandila” on ABS-CBN. You can also watch it at DZMM TeleRadyo the same day at 9:15 PM.

Julius, I watch your show regularly and you can say I prefer ABS-CBN programs. But now I’m having second thoughts. I don’t know what you really know about this case but you are barking on the wrong tree. I know the Espino Family well and I know that Dennis is not capable of doing what the complainant is accusing him of. What I know is that the complainant and a certain law enforcer is in cohorts of trying to extract a huge amount of money from Dennis in exchange for the case to be reversed. I have been to his farm and there is no way that the complainant can be kept from leaving the premises as the perimeter is not even what you can say “secured”. Mas mabuti pa kung bago ka mag side sa isang complainant mag investigate ka muna nang mabuti at hear both sides. Konting sad story lang naniwala ka na agad. These people are just after the money. You are hurting good people like the Espino Family in exchange of publicity. Now, it’s your conscience. If you have one….

Who’s the real victim???
An honest family businessman who lost more than his reputation, name, and source of income.Slow justice has taken him years away from his family…lost millions…because of internal theft by people he trusted.
Girl who had all the access to phones, cellphones, company money, manager’s extramarital girlfriend.
Probably even had better comforts of living while employed than what her hometown has.
Then the story is tagged by XXX as just about $5000 debt (plates deliberately destroyed) and files (not just any files but files that contain sales records missing for months)
I’m not sure if anybody can call this award winning journalism… thumbs down Julius Babao and your investigative team this case can be an example of failed journalism for years to come…:(
